from the children of the world!

Why gather the children of the world?

The annual “Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour” is beautiful in its simplicity and yet more powerful than a nuclear explosion. As Our Lord said, “Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them...” (Matthew. 19:14).

What is the” Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour”?

Children from around the globe, from the smallest of villages to those in the largest of cities, spiritually unite and follow along with the Holy Hour program, as they experience the joy of knowing that children just like themselves are also gathered before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in their own parish churches and chapels, praying the same prayers for their own family and all the families of the world.

This Holy Hour is for all the children of the world: Catholic school students, Religious Education students and home schooled children. It is broadcast live from the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., to help parishes, schools, and families throughout the world focus on Eucharistic unity.

The Holy Hour is a response to Our Lady’s request at Fatima on June 13, 1917:

“My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” In her own gentle and motherly way she was inviting the three little shepherds to enter into the “School of Her Immaculate Heart.”

God has sent His Angels on many occasions as messengers to bring important “news from heaven” especially when He has something important to reveal to the world. The Angel of Peace appeared in Fatima, Portugal, to teach the children special prayers and how to adore Jesus in the Eucharist. The angel also helped them spiritually prepare to receive a message for the world from the Queen of Heaven. This message has come to be known as “Heaven’s Peace Plan” and the “Little Way” of spirituality.

What are “Heaven’s Peace Plan” and the “Little Way”?

Both include great Love for Jesus in the Eucharist, thus making reparation for those who do not love Him, and also a special way to make reparation to the Immaculate Heart of His mother and our spiritual mother for the ungratefulness of so many souls. Reparation includes prayer and offering our daily duties and the every day little sacrifices of life, out of love, in the same way as the beautiful doctrine of the “Little Way” of which St.Therese of Lisieux, Doctor of the Church, made known to the Church and world.

Spiritually educating our children: to follow the little way to Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is a powerful means to initiate a “New Springtime” for our children. First, we gather children around the world in the Eucharistic Presence of Our Lord, and then we begin to establish “Children’s Eucharistic Adoration” programs in our parishes, schools and families. The fruit will be that the children, in the order of grace, turn, and begin to evangelize their own families, and through the united prayers of the children around the globe, the families of the world.

Three Popes and the Children of the World!

The request for the prayers of children to change the world and to obtain heaven’s attention is not new to our Holy Fathers. Pope Benedict XV called upon the children of the world to pray for an end to World War I, and their prayers were answered. Only a few months later the “Angel of Peace” appeared to the little shepherds at Fatima.

In 1992, at the close of the International Year of the Family, John Paul II, in his “Christmas Letter to the World’s Children” entrusted today’s family crisis to the prayers of children.

2007 we have the Apostolic Blessing of Pope Benedict XVI for the Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour.

Please print out the Holy Hour Program, present it to your parish pastor, school principal, or teacher, and request that they allow the children in their care to gather in our shrines, cathedrals, parish churches and chapels.
